Watching your dog struggle to climb stairs or stand up is heartbreaking. Whether it's arthritis, hip dysplasia, post-surgery recovery, or simply the effects of aging, mobility issues can rob your dog of the independence and joy they deserve.
The good news? The right support gear can make an enormous difference. In 2026, full-body dog carrier backpacks have become the gold standard for helping injured and elderly dogs live fuller, more comfortable lives — and we've found the best one on the market.
Signs Your Dog Needs Mobility Support
- Struggles to climb stairs or jump onto furniture
- Slips or stumbles on smooth floors
- Reluctant to go on walks they used to love
- Diagnosed with arthritis, hip dysplasia, or joint injuries
- Recovering from orthopedic surgery
- Elderly dog with weakening rear or front legs
If any of these sound familiar, a full-body support harness could be life-changing for your dog — and your back.
